Which AI bots actually visit you?

Drop in your web server access log and see every visit from GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot and other AI crawlers: how often, which pages, and when. The log is read in your browser and never uploaded.

Drop an access log here, or click to choose a file .log, .txt or .gz · read on your computer, never uploaded

No log at hand? (made-up visits to yoursite.com).

01 Every hour, automatically

Track AI crawlers over time.

In GoTrace, a one-line cron job sends your log every hour. Only AI crawler lines are kept, IP addresses are not stored, and you see each bot's visits and pages next to the traffic AI assistants send you.

02 Questions

About the log analyzer

Is my log uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read by JavaScript in this page, on your own computer. Nothing from it is sent to us or anyone else, which you can confirm in your browser's network panel.

Which log formats work?

The common and combined formats that Apache and nginx write by default, plain (.log, .txt) or gzipped (.gz), as well as most formats that end with the user agent in quotes. Lines it cannot read are counted and skipped.

Where do I find my access log?

On Apache and nginx servers it is usually in /var/log/apache2/ or /var/log/nginx/ as access.log. In Plesk: Websites & Domains → Logs. In cPanel: Metrics → Raw Access. Many hosts let you download it as a .gz file.

Why measure AI crawlers in logs and not with analytics?

AI crawlers do not run JavaScript, so script-based analytics, including ours, never sees them. Server logs record every request, which is why the paid product reads logs too, every hour, with history and charts.

Can the user agent be faked?

Yes. The busiest addresses for each crawler are listed with a link to the crawler IP verifier, so you can check whether a "GPTBot" really comes from OpenAI.
